With over 20 years’ experience working with and planning for communities, Michelle offers a broad range of advice and expertise in community and strategic planning. She is particularly skilled in bringing stakeholders together to develop strategic projects and outcomes and is well regarded for her clear thinking and understanding the needs of her clients.
Michelle initially established a consulting practice in 2005 and since that time has assisted many clients to undertake critical planning projects and deliver key infrastructure and service outcomes through strategic analysis and research, providing expert advice, managing consultation and engagement with stakeholders, preparing business plans and identifying funding opportunities. Prior to this, Michelle worked extensively in local government in Victoria and NSW for 10 years.
Michelle enjoys the challenge of identifying how the social, infrastructure and wellbeing needs of communities can be most effectively met, and leads the community and social planning program for Planning for Communities Pty Ltd.

Phil Rowland – Director

Phil has a wealth of experience in public sector organisations and private practice and brings a strategic approach to projects. He works closely with clients in the government and community sectors and excels in developing innovative responses to the challenges facing organisations.
As a senior executive and local government CEO Phil introduced innovative approaches to planning, monitoring and reporting of services and projects that ensured alignment with corporate goals. His experience includes roles in community services, environmental management, infrastructure and planning.
Phil operated a business management and planning consultancy practice in Adelaide for 4 years and provided strategic support to local government, community organisations and professional bodies.
Phil has extensive experience in local government in both Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. He worked with Melbourne Water and the Ministry for Planning and Environment for 5 years leading projects in the planning and management of regional open space and urban public places. Phil has over 11 years consulting experience and leads the strategic and business planning program for Planning for Communities Pty Ltd.
